Regular Season

Auditions for our regular season are by appointment only. For your 10-minute tryout, you will sing vocal exercises, repeat musical patterns, try some easy sight-reading, and sing (a cappella) a short folk song, hymn, or other piece of your choosing. That’s it!

Please see our WVC Information Letter for more information about the group and our policies and expectations. Our members are expected to memorize some repertoire and be prepared to sing in a foreign language. Members may miss no more than four rehearsals during the winter season, no more than three rehearsals in the spring, and must attend all tech rehearsals.

To schedule an audition, contact Allan Friedman, (919) 923-3869, email

We welcome women of all ages – high school through retirement. We rehearse on Monday evenings in Durham and give concerts in January and April/May. We work hard and laugh a lot at our rehearsals. We also strive for the highest levels of musical excellence.

Summer Community Chorus

This summer, Women’s Voices Chorus will host a month-long Summer Community Chorus, culminating in a concert on Sunday, July 29, 4:00 p.m. at United Church of Chapel Hill on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Admission to the concert is free, but donations are welcome and will benefit the Compass Center for Women and Families of Chapel Hill. All sopranos and altos are welcome to join us, regardless of their relationship to WVC. Rehearsals will be on four Monday nights, June 25 and July 9, 16, and 23, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at United Church of Chapel Hill.

Registration has ended for summer 2018. Please check back next year for information about summer chorus registration.
