Rise Up!

Saturday, February 28, 2026, 3:00 p.m.
First Presbyterian Church
305 East Main Street, Durham NC

YouTube Video coming soon!

Rise Up! celebrates the immeasurable contributions of women as musicians, poets, authors, scientists, artists, activists, matriarchs, and peacemakers. Featuring music and poetry composed by women, we honor and amplify stories of resilience, courage, strength, and hope. We pay tribute to those who confront injustice, spark movements, and inspire lasting change β€” women whose legacy endures.
This concert will be performed in collaboration with the SV-Five ensemble of Sisters’ Voices directed by Leandra Merea Strope. Sisters’ Voices is a choral community of girls, within which each is known and supported while being challenged to grow as a musician and as a person. They are based in Chapel Hill, NC, and serve girls, young women, and gender expansive youth in pre-kindergarten through high school.Β
