Hello!
It was so wonderful to be back together singing! It was great to see your beautiful faces and to hear your beautiful voices.
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to help us prepare for our 32nd season of WVC – what a marvelous adventure before us!
We won’t rehearse on Labor Day, but I look forward to seeing you on 9/8. Below are the measures we will work on for the next two rehearsals. (SV) indicates the pieces on which Sisters’ Voices will join us. A Blessing of Cranes is for Chamber Choir – just one piece instead of the regular two because it is a longer (stunning!) piece – about 7:30. (M) indicates pieces that we will sing from memory.
We will have Chamber Choir auditions on 9/15/25 after our regular rehearsal. For this piece, we will optimally need 5-6 singers per part (S1, S2, A1, A2). The audition cut is as indicated. You can access the music via our practice tracks.
Between now and our next rehearsal, it would be very helpful for you to number all of your measures. It would also be helpful for you to gain familiarity with our music by playing the practice tracks or YouTube recordings while you are working around the house or are in the car (set your cruise control!).
Please plan on some dedicated individual time with your music and practice tracks to focus on the measures that I have indicated for the next two rehearsals so that we don’t have to spend too much time drilling notes and rhythms when we are all together. That’s the time that optimally we will dig deeper, creating ensemble and expression (the fun stuff!).
You can see on our calendar that we will give a mini concert on 11/3/25. I have indicated the pieces I am considering including with an asterisk.
