In just three short days, our tour choir will be on its way to Ireland for WVC’s third international tour. And we are so excited! This past Saturday, we had our final rehearsal and performed a concert for the residents at Carolina Meadows. We are ready!

Why are we going on tour again? The goal of this tour is fourfold: (1) To appreciate and understand women’s choral traditions across the globe. (2) To bring American music to other locales. (3) To give us the unique opportunity to combine travel and music making. (4) To enhance group cohesion and help us make better music together.

Our tour choir has been working hard on our Irish pronunciation and we are eager to perform. The theme of our upcoming concerts is Songs From Here and Éire, and what better way for us to connect as we travel than with the music of the land we’re visiting?

We will be singing for the morning worship service at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Killarney and performing concerts at St. Mary’s Church of Ireland in Killarney, the Collegiate Church of Saint Nicholas in Galway, a senior center in Galway, and at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. Along the way we will be seeing sights such as the Dingle Peninsula with a sheepdog demonstration, Muckross house and Gardens, the Cliffs of Moher, the Killbeggan Distillery, and Dublin Castle. Follow us here as we sing our way across Ireland.

We hope you’ll keep up with us as we sing our way across Ireland – stay tuned for posts and photos from the road! Be sure to follow our Facebook page for the latest in WVC news as we travel and all year long!
