This week, I would like to introduce you all to our Board who has been working for months to prepare for this new season. Thank you all so much for your dedicated service! There are many opportunities to volunteer on each of the committees so please reach out to any Board member if you think you might be interested in sharing your time and talent.

Tiara/Virtual Toaster: Marsha Ferguson
Marsha is a member of the Board and is the Logistics Chair. She is responsible for all concert and rehearsal logistics, which include rehearsal set up, organizing auditions, and securing venues for concerts and retreats. She has done a phenomenal job under very difficult circumstances, in the last year especially, and we are so thankful for all of her efforts! Thank you Marsha.
If you are interested in working with Marsha, there are several opportunities available: rehearsal set-up, concert manager, Box Office, Concert Scarves and Chorus Promotion. Please let Marsha know if you would like to learn about available opportunities on the Logistics Committee or volunteer to help.
International Tour
WVC is beginning to plan our third international tour in August 2024! Over the summer, the Board voted to start a Tour Exploratory Committee for this purpose and our Chair, Jackie Walters, has been working to pull together a wonderful tour of Ireland. Before the Board will commit the chorus and our treasury, we need to gauge interest and availability among chorus members and gauge how much financial assistance may be needed. To allow sufficient time for fundraising and planning, the Board will need to commit this fall. In the next few days, a Tour Survey will be sent to our membership. Please take a moment to respond to the email. We ask that all members respond by October 12th so that responses can be tabulated prior to our Fall Retreat (October 29th at Chapel of the Pines; 9-3PM), where we plan to respond to any questions/concerns.
Practice files page: This page is where you can access Laura’s weekly emails, part splits, the self-assessment form, and our Happy Birthday version. It also has two sets of tabs. The first set has YouTube links, recordings, and pronunciation helps. Scroll way down and there is a second set of tabs with the sib/mp3 practices files. We have awesome proofreaders, but occasionally we miss something, so if you see anything that needs fixing or if any links aren’t working, please let Karla know right away (kmkbyrnes@gmail.com) – specify which tab, song, and part.
