The Fund Development and Vice President positions will be open for appointment. Please let anyone on the Board know if you are interested or would like more information.
WVC Calendar Change
We will hold our last rehearsal of the year on May 3, NOT May 10, as originally scheduled. The May 3rd Rehearsal will be our “Yay US!” Celebration where we review our accomplishments and celebrate the many accomplishments of our singers, leaders and Artistic Director this year!
Guest Singers – Special Notice
If you are a guest singer and interested in auditioning for regular membership in WVC, please contact our Artistic Director, Laura Sam – director@womensvoiceschorus.org.
In-person Rehearsal – More Details
Yes, you will need a mask if you would like to join in our in person rehearsal. Thanks to Brenda Edwards for the links to two possible specialized singer’s mask choices (see below.) Both are comfortable for singing though, not especially attractive and more expensive than the average mask. It’s your choice, – You may use any good mask.
We will be holding our in person rehearsal on April 19 at the Won Buddhism Temple, 8021 Old NC 86 Chapel Hill NC 27516. All members are welcome to either the in-person rehearsal or the Zoom rehearsal, regardless of your previous survey response.
Facilities
1. There is ample parking. You will need to walk about 300′ from the parking area to the singing area.
2. The facility has a covered roof, and open sides for ventilation.
3. There Is a raised platform for the director and the accompanist.
4. Bathroom facilities while available, would be a building away from our rehearsal space.
5. We will be using a generator for lights. (The building is wired for electricity, but it is not turned on.)
6. The space has great acoustics for singing!
The Rehearsal
1. We are expecting about 20 singers and easily have room for the whole choir if everyone came.
2. Singers need to be masked.
3. Laura Delauney will lead the rehearsal and Deb Hollis will provide piano accompaniment.
4. The rehearsal would last no more than 45 minutes.
5. If you would like a chair, you will need to bring it..
6. A simultaneous zoom rehearsal would take place for those who would prefer a zoom rehearsal. The outside rehearsal would revert to a regular zoom rehearsal for all in the case of high winds or moderate or heavier rain. We will send an email message at 6 pm to confirm the rehearsal in case of questionable weather.
For those planning to attend this document includes details regarding where to go, what to bring and where to park.
