Hello Everyone!

Thank you so very much for your congratulatory signs (and cheerful noise). You made me feel celebrated and loved. I had all the feels. THANK YOU!

If you missed our rehearsal, here is the YouTube link.

I really enjoyed our rehearsal last night – so nice to sing all of the way through all 5 movements of Snow Angel.

The All Hands Meeting was wonderful – thank you, Kay, and all! The tour of the website was especially helpful (thank you, Karla). It’s so wonderful to have everything we need all in one organized place.

Recording for virtual choirs – If you are feeling like recording both sound and video is too much all at once, you can always record audio first (you can still make a “video” and not care what the picture looks like – pointed up at the ceiling – whatever is fine). Then, to create the video, just get everything set up as you normally would for a video and sing along to the guide track. Start recording as indicated on the guide track (as you normally would). Don’t put in earbuds – I will need to hear the audio playing in the background (loud is good!) in order to line you up. I do recommend that you actually sing along rather than just mouthing the words – you will look much more natural that way. But absolutely you should not care about the quality of your singing because I will only use the audio for alignment purposes and mute it in the mix. You can also choose to submit only audio – your choice.

I’m not going to start on Angels of Mercy for a few days (probably Saturday) so if you want to upload your recording late I won’t notice – so please do if you wanted to record and just didn’t get to it in time.

Looking Ahead to 10/26

We will continue to work on Rise and Stand. There are a lot of words in this one and repetition is helpful. Think about an image that you have that you think complements this project because we will definitely want to include images in this one. I’m only asking for 1 because we have a lot of participants – if I need more I can let you know. Our recordings for this one are due on 11/2.

We will continue work on Snow Angel and we will have sectionals so bring your questions.

We will spend the final 30 minutes of rehearsal on our Angel Gallery Project.

Looking Ahead to 11/2

We will continue work on Snow Angel and will work in sectionals as needed. We’ll see how much progress we make in our next rehearsal.

Hopefully, we will have a watch party for A Path to Each Other. Get your popcorn ready (you will probably only need a few kernels because this song is so short!)

The final 30 minutes will be a behind the scenes look at creating a virtual choir. I’ll take you on a whirlwind tour of what I do after I have your recordings.

Cheers!
Laura
