Hello Everyone,
I enjoyed our rehearsal – I’m so glad that you were able to join us for an evening of music (and Deb’s pie!). This email is delayed because it took multiple attempts since Monday night to successfully upload our Zoom rehearsal to YouTube (struggles – it’s a large file!) but finally, success. Because I was the person recording the meeting, the sectional portion of the rehearsal is A2 and the small discussion group is the one to which I was assigned.
Thank you Deb. Kay, and Laura for your contributions in leading our sectional rehearsals and thanks to all who participated in our music-making.
I realized after rehearsal that I didn’t always share my screen with you a few times when I thought I was sharing – I’ll get the hang of it all by the time the pandemic is over….maybe.
During our Zoom rehearsals, your view of the scores that I share (if I remember to!) may at times be blurry on your receiving end – it’s a combination of Zoom and your Internet speed at that moment so have your hard copies ready. If you still need copies of the score, they are on our website under the practice files tab. When you view the rehearsal videos on your own, they will be clear.
I’m so excited about our next two guest speakers. For this coming week (10/5), Sarah Quartel is joining us to talk about her composition, Snow Angel. I hope that you are ready with your questions! What a treat for her to be with us. The following week (10/12) we will have one of our own superstars, Jackie Walters, talk with us about the Red Cross and her work with this wonderful organization. This, of course, ties directly to our singing of Angels of Mercy – written by Irving Berlin and dedicated to the Red Cross.
