Dear Singers,

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night! We need your help to make our sectionals go smoothly tomorrow –
Name Changes for Sectionals
We’re going to ask you to “change your Zoom name” before our rehearsal and once again during the rehearsal tomorrow.  (This is not part of ” WVC Witness Protection Policy,” rather it’s to help us go to sectionals as efficiently as possible.)

There’s more than 1 way to get to the name change.

  1. Hold your cursor over the three dots in your “square” and select “more” and then select “rename,” OR
  2. Go to “Participants” at the bottom of the screen and select “more” and then select “rename.”

In either case, you can retype your name in the space provided.

Since our first sectional will be in three parts, put the following addition at the front of your name:
For three part music, use the first letter of your section in front of your name:
S (for sopranos)
M (for mezzos)
A (for altos)

For example, my name would be A-Kay Johnson.

When that sectional is over, change your name for 4 parts”
S1
S2
A1
A2

For example, my name would be A1-Kay Johnson.

Happy Half Hour
Please take the chance to thank Cheryl for her wonderful ability to host our Happy Half Hour at our first rehearsal.  Happy Half Hour will be held each week between 7 and 7:30.
We are delighted to have these hosts this month:
9/14 Brenda Edwards
9/21 Diane Kirkman
9/28 Marsha Ferguson

Introductions Correction
With thanks to Barbara Trembly who served many years as our Librarian, I would like to correct my mistake at our first rehearsal.  Nancy Donny is our current librarian and has been for a year.!  So, if you have music questions or needs, please contact Nancy – nancy.donny@gmail.com.

Virtual Toasters
Our first Virtual Toaster Honorees this year are:
Doris Sigi (A2) – Doris coordinates all our music licensing agreements.  This year was a bit of a new adventure, since we’ve never dealt with online concerts which have different licensing requirements than in person concerts.  Doris also gets special credit for sticking with me on the Zoom upgrade.
Cheryl Denardo (A1) – Cheryl, seeing our need for a host, jumped in without anyone asking to help make our first meeting such a success while at the same time keeping up with our membership list to ensure that everyone who should join us can!
[Note: Virtual Toasters are our award for service above and beyond the call.  They’re a reminder of earlier times, when, upon opening a bank account,, for example, you might well be acknowledged with a FREE toaster.]

New Guest Members
We have had a few changes in membership, since some of our original guest singers were unable to join us.  As a result we added names from our waiting list.  We don’t at this time anticipate adding any additional members before our second semester, but we still have a waiting list.  If you have interested friends, please let them know that we’re happy to add to our waiting list at any time this fall.

Best –
Kay Johnson, WVC President
