Hello Everyone,
I hope that you are and your families are all doing well. I continue to miss you all and our music.
I didn’t think to sing to our April birthday sisters last month so here are both April and May birthday songs with the list of names so that you can sing along (click the links). I apologize to the sopranos, but I couldn’t sing your glorious A3 in the key of A so I took the liberty of moving it down a 3rd to the key of F, especially since I know most of our A2s have beautiful C3s. And this will give you coloratura sopranos the perfect opportunity to pop out your F2s!

Here is a canon you probably already know! It is on page 17.
I Love the Mountains (use this video to review).
I Love the Mountains Canon (sing along)!
The text is:
I love the mountains, I love the rolling hills.
I love the flowers, I love the daffodils.
I love the fireside when all the lights are low.
Boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom boom!
Looking forward to our angel repertoire, here is a fun piece by one of my favorite composers.
The Spirit of Women – Gwyneth Walker
No. 1 So Many Angels!
Performance of So Many Angels!
WVC 61 copies
All night, all day, angels watching over me, my Lord.
All night, all day, angels watching over me.
La la la la…
And if I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take,
Heaven’s right before my eyes,
Riding my chariot across the skies,
Angels in the morning,
Angels at noon,
Angels in the closet,
Angels in my bedroom!
Angels in the sofa and angels in the chair,
Angels, angels, EVERYWHERE!
Angels in my coffee and angels in my tea,
Those angels, I think, are flirting with me!
Angels on the porch and angels on the stair,
I even think I found some angels in my hair.
Angels smiling, angels poking fun,
Angels getting into everything under the sun!
Angels in the supermarket today.
There are so many angels, I just have to say that
All night, all day, angels watching over me, my Lord,
All night, all day, angels watching over me.
Don’t you stop watching over me, Gal!
My Lord!!
All of the sections have had Zoom or Google meetings and lots of you were able to join a meeting and let us know how you have been doing. Please let us know if anyone needs anything.
On Monday, May 11th, I am going to host a Zoom meeting from 7:30-9:30 PM. Come if you can! You are welcome to stay the whole time or drop in for a few minutes. I can host up to 100 so that will cover us. It’s helpful if you mute your microphone unless you are talking – helps to cut down on background noise – especially with potentially many joining at once. I apologize if you can’t Zoom – it’s the tech that works for me.
I have not personally tried to join a zoom meeting by phone only, but here is information that you might find helpful if you want to give it a try. Joining a Meeting by Phone – Zoom Help Center. You would have to pay whatever rates your phone plan charges.
Laura Sam is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
