Greetings, WVC Singers!
I am writing to let you know how thrilled I am to have been named the Artistic Director of WVC. I am so looking forward to making music with you and getting to know you better when we begin rehearsals in August.
I met many of you already at my audition. Thank you for your enthusiastic and hospitable reception. I felt welcomed from the first moment I arrived and had a great time at our rehearsal. I loved hearing you sing!
As guided by the mission statement of WVC, I have chosen repertoire for our upcoming concerts that was composed by women and for women. To enhance the thematic journey of each concert, I programed a few pieces not composed by women, but the voices of women composers and poets will be strongly represented through our music in the coming year. I hope that our repertoire will stimulate our intellect, nourish our spirits, challenge our musical abilities, and warm our hearts. Most of all, I can’t wait to hear you lift the sound of music off of the pages of our scores.
I am eagerly counting the days until our rehearsal in August!
