Hi everyone,
There is a possibility that we will have inclement weather tomorrow night. We will be monitoring the weather throughout the day and will decide by 4PM. Please review our rehearsal cancellation policy below.
Rehearsal Cancellation Policy
In the event of inclement weather or other emergency, the President will contact the rehearsal venue to see if it is remaining open, as a closure could preempt our decision. The President and AD will confer to reach a decision about cancellation of a rehearsal and will inform the membership by email no later than 4:00 pm. The announcement will also be posted on the WVC website and Facebook. Please check your email. If rehearsal is not cancelled and any member feels concerned about attending, they should stay home, but notify their Membership Liaison and the AD. The AD will decide whether the absence will count against the singer.
Sectionals: There will be a Mixed Sectional from 6:45-7:25PM in our regular rehearsal space. Please share areas of concern with your section leaders.
What is happening on December 8th?
· Pecan Delivery: Diane will have the pecans from the December sale available for pick-up
· Scarves will be available for purchase at rehearsal on December 8th and 15th. We are requesting a suggested donation of $12 per scarf. Payment can be made by cash, check, Venmo (@WomensVoicesChorus), or Square. We will distribute scarves before rehearsal and during break. Please be mindful that we are having sectionals so proceed quietly and quickly to the table to receive your concert scarf.
Concert Information:
· Concert Tickets: Tickets for our January 25 concert will be distributed by your section Membership Liaison at rehearsal tomorrow night. All ticket money and unsold tickets are due Monday, January 12. Please take a moment to read through the attached PDF describing our ticketing process and if you have additional questions, please contact Allison Mangin (allisonmangin@gmail.com).
· Posters, postcards and business cards for our upcoming concert will be available at each rehearsal. Please take and share with those who might be interested.
· January 12 Concert: In case you need to purchase concert clothes … The first ‘tech’ rehearsal for our Winter Concert will be on January 12 at Carolina Meadows. This will be a full run through of the concert followed by rehearsal. We WILL be wearing our regular concert dress for this performance.
· Program Ads: The deadline for Program Ads and Tributes is December 19th. Please consider approaching vendors you know well and asking them to support the arts in this way; it allows them to get their message to our loyal audience and brings our name into the community. It also helps us spread the financial support of the chorus beyond our members and families/friends, something most members say they would like us to do. Most importantly, with ads we can continue producing a hard-copy program, which is a valuable addition to our audience’s enjoyment of our concerts. This cannot happen if you do not ask. Prices have not changed from last season; please use the attached forms, which are also available on the Buy Ads and Tributes page of our website. If you have any questions, please reach out to Rebecca Bruening.
Holiday Party: At the end of rehearsal on December 15th, we will be having a winter social to enjoy each other’s company before the end of the year. Holiday attire (tacky or otherwise) is encouraged! Please bring a snack or a non-alcoholic beverage to share. Thank you.
Funds Raised to Date: Please see the attached graphic depicting funds raised as of 11/30/2025. Thank you to everyone who participated in our most recent fundraisers. We have raised a total of $2,740.58: Pecans $1,595.59, $737.99 for table sales, and T-shirts $407.00. Many thanks to Diane Wold, Darcy Wold (Pecans), Julianne Vance (Table Sales), and Sarah Town (T-shirts and swag) for organizing these fundraising opportunities.
December and July Birthdays: Wishing the happiest of birthdays to Rebecca Bruening (12/2), Jan French (12/27), Kay Johnson (12/28), Sue Regier (12/31), and Anne Menkens (7/24)
Zoom: If you need to attend rehearsal via Zoom, please remember to notify Laura, your section leader and membership liaison. You can join the Zoom Rehearsals here. Meeting ID: 858 3293 4624; Password: 121074.
Hope to see you all tomorrow!
