Hi everyone,
*****Soprano Sectional Tomorrow night: 6:45-7:25PM. Soprano 1s will be in the regular rehearsal space, and Soprano 2s will be in the choir room in the building across from our regular rehearsal space.
Mini-Concert: Next week, November 3rd, we will have a mini-concert and our rehearsal at the Efland Bahá’í Center located at 119 Maple Street, Efland, NC 27243. We are performing some of our songs in a mid-season preview concert at the Efland Baha’i Center on Monday, November 3rd. Please arrive by 7:30; we will begin our mini-concert at 7:45. Following the performance, we will continue rehearsal until 9:30. You can wear your normal clothes, no concert attire required. Please plan ahead to determine how early you need to leave to get there on time. For reference, the Efland Baha’i Center is a 25-30 minute drive northwest from our regular rehearsal space at HTLC. The easiest way to get directions would be to use an app with GPS on your phone. For those of you who prefer a map, I’ve made a map of the local area with general directions. If you are nervous about driving there on your own, remember that carpooling with other choir members may be a good option for you. The Baha’i Center is indicated by the yellow star on the map below. If the parking lot is full when you arrive, it is okay to park in the adjacent grassy field. Directions are attached.
Pecan Fundraiser November Deadline: The deadline for the November delivery of pecans is November 3rd, the night of our mini-concert in Efland. I have included the Friends and Family form and the Consolidated form for your convenience. If you have any questions, please reach out to Diane Wold (S2).
Request from Sarah: We are reporting to Strowd Roses on progress made, successes, and challenges, related to their 2024 grant, which allowed us to purchase additional risers and handrails to use for dress rehearsals and concerts. Please share any comments related to your own increased sense of safety/ comfort on the new risers and better ability to see/ engage with Laura and the audience, during our spring concert with Sarah pedritasf@yahoo.com by November 3rd. Thank you. Testimonials are great to include.
Digital Suggestion Box Reminder: This semester’s repertoire includes some heavy subject matter, and the Inclusion & Outreach Committee would love to check in with you. We are aware that these topics will hit people differently based on their life experiences. We want to foster a culture in which people are able to share their experiences as they wish to and are supported as they do so. If you’d like to share any kind of concern or question anonymously, remember we have a digital suggestion box, a Google form that goes to the I&O Committee, and you can indicate what level of follow up you would like to have. The committee would also love to hear from you if you would like to participate in some other kind of venue for sharing that we could sponsor, like a coffee date or round table discussion. Those suggestions or expressions of interest can also go in the suggestion box.
Shout-out: This week, the shout-out goes to Kate DeAlmeida and the whole DeAlmeida family, who folded, stuffed, sealed, stamped and sent out the Fall Donation Letter. Remember, you can also email the most recent e-news to family and friends to let them know about our upcoming performances. Also, I hope this Monday Pauline can enjoy her shout-out too from last week 😊
Zoom: If you need to attend rehearsal via Zoom, please remember to notify Laura, your section leader and membership liaison. You can join the Zoom Rehearsals here. Meeting ID: 858 3293 4624; Password: 121074.
