Hello Everyone,

I thoroughly enjoyed our rehearsal and also brought home some beautiful hand painted cards from our table sales that Virginia created. Bonus!

Rehearsal Reflection

You’ve Got a Friend in Me – arr. Julie Gault
We definitely improved our performance of mm. 36-43 – great work! We will continue to work on ensemble precision so that we are really ‘tight’ on this one! We also need to work on the S1 rhythm which should be syncopated mm. 1-3 (and similar sections). We have drifted to singing on the beat instead of ahead of the beat. As you have time, please work with the practice files on this one.

Spes – Mia Makaroff
Nice work on mm. 81-104 pitches and rhythms. I’m very grateful for Virginia’s guidance on the pronunciation. Virginia is going to create a recording that will be posted on our website and I’m sure we will all find it to be very helpful! We were able to successfully sing through the entire piece – yay us!

Sparks of Divinity – Lana Walters
mm. 52-67
We have now worked through this entire piece together, although I know there are still some loose ends. Hopefully, we will answer and lingering pitch/rhythm questions in our upcoming sectional rehearsals.

Through the House Give Glimmering Light
Nice work on this as we focused on a lighter texture, faster tempo, and performing the rit. and rall. at the end of phrase

Ave Maria – Johannes Brahms
mm. 43-98
Nice review of this section – the dynamic contrasts will really bring this to life!

Tundra – Ola Gjeilo
mm/ 30-57

Mah Dodech Midod – Eleanor Epstein

Big Dogs, Music, and Wild, Wild Women – Ruth Huber

How Can I Keep From Singing? – Gwyneth Walker

Chamber Choir

The Bird’s Lullaby – Sarah Quartel
This piece is really coming together – the middle section is much more accurate and musical. We will continue to work on our ensemble so that we are absolutely together! But, it is already a very lovely sound.
