Hi everyone,

Hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend. Please take a moment to review the announcements below:

Community Outreach Fund:   Thank you for the recommendations submitted to date. Please continue to submit your suggestions to the Diversity Committee for a local nonprofit organization for our Community Outreach Fund. As a reminder, to our chosen organization, we will donate a base amount of $100 from the WVC budget and set up a way for chorus and audience members to contribute more if they wish. Please submit your ideas for a nonprofit you think would be a good fit for this season’s theme, Singing and Dancing the Earth Alive, using this form. You are also welcome to speak to any member of the Diversity Committee at rehearsal. Please make your suggestions by Saturday October 12

Fall Retreat:  Saturday, October 19th, 2024, from 9:30am – 3pm. Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church located at 314 Great Ridge Parkway, Chapel Hill. Please use the link https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4EAFAB2EA2F9C07-51615990-winter, to sign up for an item you are planning to bring.

Monthly Summary of Funds Raised:  See attached

Upcoming Fundraising Events:  Good news everyone, we will once again be having pre-holiday Pecan Sales this year (Deadlines November 4th and December 2) for all of your gifting and holiday needs!  Also, there will be a holiday themed Table Sale on December 2nd. Be on the lookout for more information in future announcements.

Run-out or Mini Concert: Occasionally we will perform a selection of our repertoire for a retirement community or other community event. Due to Holy Trinity being a polling site, our November 4th rehearsal will be a “run-out concert” at the Efland Baha’i Center located at 119 Maple Street in Efland, NC. This is a great opportunity to give us a chance to sing through selected works and share our progress with members of the community.

Parking at HTLC:   We are aware that there have been a limited number of parking spaces in the two church parking lots. We highly encourage carpooling if possible. Please take a look at the carpooling map on our website if you are interested in finding someone to ride with. Parking is no longer free in the evenings in most UNC lots. For many lots on campus, visitors may obtain a $1 temporary one-night pass through the ParkMobile App, ParkMobile phone number, ParkMobile website, or a designated weeknight pay station. See www.parkonthehill.com for more info.

Birthdays:  Please join me in wishing a Happy Birthday to our sisters born in the month of October and June.  Shipra (10/1), Sheryl (10/10), Ellie B (10/12), Betty (10/16), Meg (10/19), Marsha (10/28), Marley (10/30), Sharon (10/31), Wendy (6/3), Linda (6/22), and Susan (6/25).

Zoom: If you need to attend rehearsal via Zoom, please remember to let Laura, your section leader and membership liaison know. You can join the Zoom Rehearsals here. Meeting ID: 858 3293 4624; Password: 121074.

See you tomorrow night😊
