Dear Singers,

Soprano 1 and Soprano 2 Sectionals:  There will be a Soprano 1 sectional (in the choir room of the newer building across the street – someone will be there to direct you) and a Soprano 2 sectional (in our regular rehearsal space) tomorrow night beginning at 6:45PM.  If there is something specific you would like to review, please feel free to share your requests with Kay and Laura.  Please make an effort to be there on time.

Tour Survey:  We are still about 20 responses short, so if you have not already, please take a moment to fill out the survey. You can access the survey by the link: https://forms.gle/68CqLvivFgzmfAmG7.

Tiara/Toaster this week:  This week’s award goes to Kay Johnson.  Kay is currently serving as the Chair of the Music Committee, but what you may not know is that Kay was our President for the past two years during the most challenging of circumstances relating to the pandemic and we are so grateful for her leadership and guidance. Kay has also led sectionals, served as Alto 1 Section leader, shared her vast musical knowledge through retreat activities and has led rehearsals whenever needed. We are so grateful for all of the many ways Kay shares her time and talent with WVC.  Thank you, Kay!

Volunteer Opportunities:  A huge shout-out to Susan Brown and new member, Kate DeAlmeida for answering the call for volunteers last week.  Susan has offered to update Salesforce and Mailchimp, which are the platforms used to keep track of our members and fans, and Kate will be taking on the role as our new Mailing Maven!  Thank you both for your service!

This week’s volunteer opportunity is Scarf Lender. The concert dress of WVC is all black and includes either a Winter or a Spring scarf (several colors are approved for both seasons).  For new members, please consult the Chorus Handbook for a detailed description of Concert Dress. Most members own their scarves, but we do have some scarves available to loan or purchase.  The job description of the Scarf Lender includes:
1)      bring scarves to rehearsal the week before the concert for members to check-out;
2)      keep track of the borrowed/purchased scarves and
3)      ensure the scarves are returned after the concert.
All records are maintained on an excel spreadsheet.   The Logistics Committee, chaired by Marsha, manages this volunteer opportunity. If this task is appealing to you, please let Marsha or me know and we will get you access to the necessary materials.

Thanks everyone – see you tomorrow night!

Janet
