Dear Singers,
Hope you all enjoyed this beautiful fall weekend! Please take a moment to read through the announcements each week so we don’t spend a lot of rehearsal time reviewing.
Welcome back Laura – we missed singing with you. Special thanks to Kay and Deb for running rehearsal last week – great job!
- Housekeeping Reminder: It is wonderful to be back singing together. I encourage you to socialize before/after rehearsal and during the break – introduce yourself to someone new or catch up with an old friend, but please make an extra effort to refrain from talking with your neighbor during rehearsal time. Between the masking and the PA system, the low levels of chatter are very distracting and make it difficult for others to hear.
- Alto 1 and Alto 2 Sectionals: There will be an Alto 1 sectional (in the choir room of the newer building across the street – someone will be there to direct you) and an Alto 2 sectional (in our regular rehearsal space) tomorrow night beginning at 6:45PM. This one snuck up on us, so there is not a firm agenda. If there is something specific you would like to review, please let Kay or Laura know. Please make an effort to be there on time.
- Tour Survey: Last week, you all should have received an email about the proposed tour, which included a link to the survey. So far, we have had about half of the membership respond. If you have not already, please take a moment to fill out the survey. You can access the survey by the link: https://forms.gle/68CqLvivFgzmfAmG7. We ask that all members respond by October 12th, but the sooner the better, so that responses can be tabulated prior to our Fall Retreat (October 29th at Chapel of the Pines; 9-3PM), where we plan to respond to any questions/concerns. The Board will need to commit this Fall to allow plenty of time for fundraising and planning.
- Tiara/Toaster this week: This week’s award goes to Karla Byrnes. Karla has held many different positions on the Board over the many years she has been with WVC and for the last two years has been serving as the Operations Manager for the chorus. There is likely not a job that Karla has not performed. She has served as Treasurer for the last 4 years, prepares all of the practice files, updates the web page and carries out countless other tasks behind the scenes. We are so grateful for her MANY years of service. Thank you, Karla!
- Volunteer Opportunities: There are a couple of volunteer opportunities available in Operations Management. If these tasks are appealing to you, Karla would love the help.
