Tour to Ireland – August 2024 – Due Monday, September 25th. IMPORTANT REMINDER. So far, 52% of singers have returned the Commitment Form and/or Financial Aid Application. In order to complete the contract with MCI, we need 100% response. Please take a moment to fill out and return the form to Virginia Kraus (vbk@duke.edu) whether or not you are planning to go on tour. Ensuring all members can participate is a unique and critical part of our culture and helps us further our goal to embrace diversity in all its forms; therefore, no woman would be denied the opportunity to travel due to lack of funds. If you need finance assistance, please complete the Financial Aid application. Jackie Walters, our Chorus tour manager, is happy to answer any of your questions: jjwalters.silverspring@verizon.net. Jackie will have some hard copies of the form at rehearsal tomorrow night. Thank you.

DEIA Survey – Due Monday, September 25th. Thank you to all of you who have already filled out the Diversity Survey. If you haven’t gotten to it yet, but plan to, please take a moment to complete the survey. Here is a link to the five-question diversity survey.
Inreach Fund: Last week, I introduced Ellie Sheridan (S2) who is serving as our Inreach Coordinator this year. Thank you, Ellie! Our Inreach program coordinates choral member support such as finding ways to integrate new members, tracking milestones, and sending cards—simple gestures that can mean a lot. In addition, WVC maintains a designated Inreach Fund to offer short-term financial help to members in need due to unemployment, illness, or other emergencies. The balance in this account fluctuates based on member donations. All requests are therefore subject to fund availability. Financial assistance is a gift with no expectation of repayment. If a recipient does wish to repay some or all of the gift, the repayment will be considered a donation to the Inreach Fund. If you would like to contribute funds to the Inreach Fund, please place any and all donations in the designated box located on the piano.
Thank you: As you are aware, Women’s Voices Chorus is a volunteer-run organization. This week I would like to give special thanks to Anne Menkens, who serves as the Chair of both the Fund Development Committee for the Chorus and the Tour Fund. This past summer, Anne was very busy writing grants to help raise funds for Women’s Voices Chorus and I am delighted to announce that we have been selected to receive TWO grants from the Orange County Arts Commission to support operations and our 30th Anniversary Season. Thank you Anne for your incredible efforts!
