Attached is a Welcome Letter containing important information, so please take a moment to review it before rehearsal. We hope that it answers all of your questions. Rehearsals will take place in the same rehearsal space as last season: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 E. Rosemary St., Chapel Hill. Please arrive early (7 PM) to allow plenty of time to park, pay dues (if you haven’t already), pick up your music packet, and socialize with friends before the start of rehearsal. Dues may be paid with cash, check, or credit card at rehearsal or online at any time here (scroll down to dues) or via Venmo (@WomensVoicesChorus), noting that the payment is for ‘dues’.

Open Rehearsal: This will be an open rehearsal for anyone interested in auditioning for WVC, so please be welcoming and open to answering any of our guests’ questions. Thank you to those of you who have offered to be hosts for our guests Monday night – your willingness to help out is greatly appreciated. Despite this being an open rehearsal, attendance is not optional, and your absence will be counted toward your total for the semester.
Welcome Back Social: Mark your calendars! Please plan to join us for a Welcome Back Picnic Social on Saturday, 9/13/25, starting at 11 am, at Solite Park in Durham (4704 Fayetteville Rd, Durham, NC 27713). Families are invited to join us during this event! Please RSVP using the following link. When you RSVP, please indicate in the comments if you will be having a Beef burger or a Veggie burger. If RSVP’ing for multiple people, please indicate for your whole group. There is a suggested donation of $5 per attendee. Spring Concert: For those who have asked about CDs of the Spring concert, the MP3s are available to download here. Let Karla (kmkbyrnes@gmail.com) know if you would like a CD but can’t burn your own OR if you are willing to burn CDs for others. PLEASE NOTE: To adhere to mechanical licensing laws, each performer is entitled to ONE copy of the recording. The link to the files should NOT be shared with anyone outside of the chorus.
Attendance: We have changed the attendance policy this year. Members who miss a tech rehearsal or miss more than four regular rehearsals during the fall/winter semester will not be allowed to sing in the concert, except at the discretion of the AD. See the chorus handbook (posted on our website) for complete details on attendance and leaves of absence. Attendance via Zoom is allowed for circumstances such as illness or travel. Your first two Zoom rehearsals count as ½ an absence. Additional Zoom rehearsals count as a full absence, but you are still welcome to attend. Note that a retreat counts as two rehearsals for attendance purposes.
