On Sunday, July 29, the Summer Community Chorus, proudly presented by Women’s Voices Chorus, will hold their annual benefit concert. This year’s concert is titled The Journey Home and will feature music about about families, passages, and helping each other along the way. The Chorus will sing works composed entirely by women, including modern, medieval, and Renaissance pieces and spirituals.
The Summer Community Chorus is a non-auditioned group of sopranos and altos committed to the local arts scene and charitable outreach. This year’s charity recipient is the Compass Center for Women and Families. The Compass Center provides programs ranging from domestic violence crisis services to legal resources to women and families in Orange, Durham, Wake, and Chatham counties.
Please join us on Sunday, July 29, 4:00 p.m. at United Church of Chapel Hill on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Admission to the concert is free, but donations are welcome and will benefit the Compass Center. We hope to see you there for an afternoon of beautiful music for a worthy cause!
