Hello Everyone,
I did not want to turn in tonight before telling you all how very much I loved making music with you this afternoon. I cherished every single second of our concert and hope that you did, too.
I also hope that you feel accomplished and fulfilled by our shared experience. I think it was a grand re-entry into in-person performances! It was truly a lovely concert and the people who spoke to me felt very moved and connected to what we were sharing.
My friends and family were all very complimentary and really, really enjoyed our concert.
I am sorry that I did not see most of you after the performance. I was headed your direction when I was stopped by several people and by the time I was free I knew that most of you had already departed. But, I hope that you will be at our picnic so that we can see one another again before our summer break.
Grace was very happy with our performance of What the Heart Cannot Forget. She and Andrew and I have had a quiet evening of pizza, gelato and prosecco, followed by a fairy hair session so that Grace could go home to Utah tomorrow with sparkles.
I spoke with Meg and her family (I’m sure many of you did, as well) and they were very pleased with our honoring of Elisabeth. It was truly a special moment for everyone.
The thank you list is a long one…all of you sang beautifully (and played beautifully – Deb!!!) and then contributed in so many ways to the success of our concert. I hope that you know that you (and your family members!) are deeply appreciated.
Thank you for my beautiful flowers. I will enjoy them this week and think of you all when I see them. I am so grateful for each of you!
Wishing you all sweet dreams,
Laura
PS speaking of dreams…I had a pre-concert dream a few nights ago where you all gathered in another room of the church right before the concert started and decided to teach yourselves another song (with weird staging and ridiculous choreography and misbehaving child guest artists who were just running around getting into everything) and also you decided no black outfits – just whatever clothes everyone was wearing (I had on a t-shirt and yoga pants)…AND Janet was okay with it. Anyway, it was a dream full of nonsense that was simultaneously horrific and hilarious.
