Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I will be attending rehearsal via Zoom tomorrow night and am sorry to be missing the St. Paddy’s Day festivities. Wishing you all the luck of the Irish!
Sectionals: Tomorrow night we will have Soprano Sectionals at 6:45PM. Soprano 2 will be in the regular rehearsal space and Soprano 1s will be in the choir room across the street.
Program Ads: Program ads (ad copy and payment) are due by April 5th! If you have not already, please reach out to local vendors to ask them to support the arts and get the word out about their business. You can also give them a concert poster to display. Prices and procedures are included in the attached form and on our WVC website “Store” page here. If you have any questions, please reach out to Rebecca Bruening (rebecca.bruening@gmail.com).
Concert Tickets: Tickets for our May 3rd concert will be distributed by your section Membership Liaison at rehearsal tomorrow night. Please take a moment to read through the attached PDF describing our ticketing process and if you have additional questions, please contact Allison Mangin (allisonmangin@gmail.com).
Concert Announcement: Last week, you should have received the Spring e-news (thank you Trisha). Please forward this email to family and friends and let them know what WVC has been up to and about our upcoming concert. Also, there are posters, postcards, and business cards for publicizing our upcoming concert on the front table. Please take them and hang them in local businesses, places of worship, etc to help fill the seats! The postcards can be mailed to family and friends using a postcard stamp ($0.56) or regular first-class stamp ($0.73).
Nominations for Board Positions: The following positions are up for election this spring: Secretary, Treasurer, Fund Development, Music, and Logistics. Incumbents are welcome to offer to continue in their position. If you are interested in joining the Board, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee: Kay Johnson, Chair, A1 2ndalto@gmail.com, Brystana Kaufman, S1 brystana@gmail.com, and Caryl Price, A2 cstprice@gmail.com. Nominations are open through April 3rd and elections will be held on Monday, April 15th.
American Fiction Showing: Mark your calendars! The Diversity Committee invites you all to a showing of the film American Fiction on Sunday March 23 at 2:00 at Sue Gidwitz’s home, 5803 Russell Rd, Durham. Snacks provided, discussion to follow. Please confirm your RSVP to Rachel (rachelbowmanabdi@gmail.com) by Monday, March 17th.
Shout-out: Someone please let Rachel Bowman-Abdi have her picture taken wearing the tiara – thank you Rachel! Thank you once again to Mariah Howe (on leave this semester), who has created our beautiful graphics for our concert this Spring.
