Dear Singers,

Thanks to all for a day of pleasant company, good food, and ever improving music

  1. WVC Survey Response: Apparently if you don’t hit send, an email won’t go out.  The promised survey is attached.
  2. Sectional Rehearsal at 7:30: Sectional rehearsals start at 7:30 with all sopranos in the Sanctuary and all altos in the regular space.  We will reconvene as a combined chorus at 8:40 in the regular rehearsal space.
  3. Concert ads:

What makes a business want to put an ad in our concert program? Duh —  Does it bring in more business?
If you can visit our advertisers and let them know you appreciate their support, it will be much more likely they will renew their ad next time around. Here is a list of our advertisers from the winter concert program:

  • Balloons and Tunes (plus all kinds of fun gifts) in Carrboro
  • Carrboro Family Vision (you know you need an eye exam)
  • Carrboro Family Pharmacy (an independent pharmacy that does not contribute to Trump’s campaign)
  • Fairy Strands (you know who)
  • Goathouse Refuge (time to get a kitten?)
  • Jewelsmith (lovely jewelry store in Durham)
  • Leslie’s Gardens (landscape and maintenance in Durham – promotes use of native plants)
  • Medical Massage (see Hannah for recommendation)
  • Mig for Mac (tutorials on all things Mac – she’s good)
  • Move With Elan (awareness through movement, functional     integration, Feldenkreis)
  • NC Crafts Gallery (beautiful gifts or treats for yourself) in Carrboro
  • Owning the Dash (Laura D’s husband Tony’s book, a “clear, concise,   and accessible guide” to financial matters)
  • Susan’s Fiberstudio (our own Susan Brown)
  • Triangle Day School (our Amie teaches there)
  • Wild Birds Unlimited (in Timberlyne – knowledgeable, friendly staff)
  • Women’s Birth and Wellness Center (well, perhaps you don’t need a midwife just now, but they do have a cool boutique for baby stuff)

Neither Leslie’s Gardens nor Jewelsmith is going to repeat their winter concert ads. Leslie cited lack of response, Jewelsmith cited other reasons, but perhaps if some of us patronize them, they’ll change their mind.

  1. Nominating Committee: Meg Berreth is heading our Nominating Committee with members Amy Glass and Susan Brown. Positions that are up for election this year are: President, Vice-President, Membership Committee Chair and Public Relations Committee Chair. Please let one of them know if you or someone you know might be interested in one of these positions.

Best –

Kay Johnson, WVC President
