Tour

Welcome! Although the bulk of Women’s Voices Chorus activities occur right here in the Triangle, every five years we aim to take an international tour. Here you will find links to our tour travelogues and photos.

The goal of these trips is fourfold: (1) To appreciate and understand women’s choral traditions across the globe. (2) To bring American music to other locales. (3) To give us the unique opportunity to combine travel and music making. (4) To enhance group cohesion and help us make better music together.

In July 2012, after more than two years of planning, the chorus embarked on a tour of Hungary, Slovenia, and Italy. We performed concerts in St. Stephen’s Basilica in Budapest, St. Nicholas’s Church in Ljubljana, and St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice, among other venues, and explored musical and cultural landmarks in each city. Here are some links to that tour:

In July 2017, WVC traveled to the Baltic States—Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania—for our second international tour. We performed concerts in St. Catherine’s Church in Vilnius, Lithuania; St. John’s Church in Riga, Latvia; and the White Hall of the House of Blackheads in Tallinn, Estonia. We also had a few impromptu performances in such locations as the Latvian National Opera and the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds! Check out these links for more about our travels:
