Dear Singers,

Thanks for your patience and persistence!

HOUSEKEEPING

  1. Set up – We plan to post reminders and check our set up at about 7:25 each evening, so our Happy Half Hour may be a little shorter.

Please check the files below for your part. When you join the meeting, go ahead and change your name for the 3 part sectional. Select the 3 dots in the upper right of your picture, select “more” and select “rename.” (S for soprano, M for mezzo and A for alto, for example, S-Laura Delauney, M-Lara Olson, A-Kay Johnson.)

  1. Logging  out – Once you have logged in, please do not log out unless you have tech problems or need to leave the meeting for the evening.  During breaks you can stop the video (and of course the audio if it has been turned on) without leaving the meeting.  We’d like our doorkeeper, Cheryl, to both keep us safe and participate fully in our rehearsals.
  2. Mute – In your zoom session, make sure the picture of the microphone in the lower left hand corner of your screen has a red line through it during rehearsals.  See the screenshot below if you are unclear.
  3. Chat – We will not record the chat comments in the future.  We have section leaders monitoring the chat for your questions and suggestions.  Since the transcript includes private comments, we would like to leave them private.
  4. Virtual Choir Recordings – Your draft is due Monday, September 21 by midnight.  The link to upload your file is found on the instructions page:

A Path to Each Other Instructions and Links

On screen page turns –  For those of you who have turned pages for another musician, you know that each individual has her own page turn timing preferences.  We only have one master recording for the choir.  Page turns will be too early for some and too late for others.  Each singer will have to  adjust to the master by taking notes or by memorization.

  1. Reminder, we have Kathleen Hansen as our Visiting Artist on 9/21/20 at about 8:35.  We think you’ll enjoy it even more with her handouts.  Links as follows:

  1. Special Thanks to Deb Hollis for her thoughtful suggestions for musicianship!

Best –
