This thrilling concert on January 24th, 2010, was inspired by the words of Sojourner Truth and features songs about heroines through the ages. From Old Testament heroes to the Virgin Mary, from Abraham Lincoln’s mother to unnamed women toiling at factories and homes, this concert sings of the strength and grace of women, both young and old. The choir also premiered three new works by Duke University Graduate composers, Sidney Boquiren, Paul Leary, and Thom Limbert.
